Please read these Terms of Use ("Terms", "Terms of Use") carefully before using the QR & Barcode Scanner mobile application (the "Service") operated by QR & Barcode Scanner ("us", "we", or "our").
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, then you may not access the Service.
2. License and Acceptable Use
We grant you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited license to download, install, and use the application strictly in accordance with these Terms.
You agree not to:
Use the app for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app.
Modify, translate, or create derivative works based on the app.
Intentionally use the app to scan, execute, or distribute malicious links, viruses, or harmful content.
3. App Features and System Permissions
To function as intended, the Service requires access to various system capabilities on your device. By using the app, you acknowledge and agree to the following integrations:
System Overlays: The app utilizes permissions (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW, SYSTEM_OVERLAY_WINDOW) that allow it to display content over other active applications on your screen.
Background Operations: The app uses permissions (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED, SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM) to run tasks automatically upon device startup and schedule background processes.
Notifications: The Service utilizes Firebase Cloud Messaging (POST_NOTIFICATIONS) to send you push notifications, updates, or promotional messages.
Network & Wi-Fi Management: The app may view or alter your Wi-Fi connections (ACCESS_WIFI_STATE, CHANGE_WIFI_STATE) to facilitate features such as automatically connecting to scanned Wi-Fi QR codes.
Location and Device State: The app has access to your precise location (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION) and cellular/device state (READ_PHONE_STATE). This data may be utilized by core features or third-party SDKs for functional, analytical, or advertising purposes.
4. Third-Party Services and Analytics
The Service integrates third-party Software Development Kits (SDKs) to provide core functionality, monitor performance, and analyze user behavior.
Analytics & Stability: We use Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Performance, and Firebase Crashlytics to track usage metrics, app performance, and technical errors.
Machine Learning: We use Google ML Kit to decode barcodes and QR codes locally on your device.
We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the data collection practices or privacy policies of these third-party services. Your use of the app constitutes acceptance of these third-party integrations.
5. Advertisements
The Service is ad-supported and integrates the Google Mobile Ads SDK.
By using the app, you agree to the display of targeted and non-targeted advertisements.
Ad networks may use your Advertising ID, location data, and device state to serve relevant ads.
We do not endorse the products or services shown in advertisements and assume no liability for third-party ad content or any interactions you have with advertisers.
6. External Links and Scanned Content
The Service allows you to scan codes that may direct you to third-party websites, applications, or services that are not owned or controlled by us.
We assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites accessed via scanned codes.
You acknowledge and agree that we shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused by your reliance on any scanned content, goods, or services available on or through any such third-party sites.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. The Service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
We do not warrant that the app will function uninterrupted, secure, or available at any particular time or location.
We do not warrant the complete accuracy of the scanning results (e.g., decoding errors or unreadable codes).
We do not warrant that any technical errors, crashes, or defects will be immediately corrected.
8. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall QR & Barcode Scanner, nor its developers, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:
Your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service.
Any third-party conduct, content, or advertisements within the Service.
Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or data.
Malicious software, links, or exploits encountered through scanned QR codes or barcodes.
9. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
